How does everyone record sports now if you dont pay for a tv service?

Seems like you would be in the minority. Given that so many people either already have DVR service through their cable/satellite/streaming service, seems frivolous to add the fuctionality to a TV and add a few hundo to the price.

I would certainly say that if I were TV shopping and TV 1 is $500 and TV 2 is $650 and the only difference is on-board DVR, I am buying the $500 model.

Even in the 80s we were using an external device to handle channel tuning and recording the signal.

Streaming services have DVR? The only live television I watch is football. It's the only sport that I can't watch after the fact if I can't watch live. I didn't watch any of the Olympics live. Peacock had them available for replay later. I hate being interrupted by commercials every five minutes. Same with the Tour de France. Replay means no commercials if you have Peacock's premium plus.
