That's the other thing.  I'm just not seeing real speed out of him either.  I know the camera is not always on him which is why you need to look at the all 22, but I don't recall ever seeing him separate against a defender.  When he's been open, it just seems that he found a soft spot in the zone or something.  Finding soft spots in the zone is a skill, so I'll give him that, but that's about all I've seen and it has been sporadic.

When we were looking at free agent WRs last January ahead of free agency, I zero'd in on him as a potential target for us given size, big game production at times and likely price tag, but I am thoroughly disappointed 4 games in.  Still time for him to turn it around and change my mind I guess.

Yeah - that was my point as I'm sure you gathered. 

The separation isn't there unless it's a go route or something similar where long speed can help him. 

He's not crafty out of breaks like Kirk and not as fast out of breaks as BTJ (though that would be a very, very short list) 

Getting Engram back could help a bit, and I imagine Gabe could get on a little streak if this staff identifies a few plays that suit him best to be a primary or secondary target. I don't expect much. Flashes here and there and a couple of standout games.
