Kiper 3 round mock draft

Quote:Because look at how the bulk of Amaro's catches; they came from 1-5 yards and also lined up in the slot. Thats not the kind of TE I want. By contrast, look at a guy like Niklas - His catches were more spread out and did well in the intermediate range (think deep seam) which IMO is what you are looking for from your TE. Also, Niklas was able to accomplish this while lining up as a conventional TE, which is more impressive and suggests a more seamless transition and transferable game to the pros. I like Niklas also, but regarding Amaro -- aren't you faulting the player for running the routes that the coaches designed for him? If they're running him on 6-yard crosses 30 times a game, that doesn't mean he can't stretch the seam, maybe his coaches are chicken and like safe throws, or maybe his QB can't make that throw. Could be a ton of reasons other than something to do with Amaro's ability. |
