As I just posted, there's a way we could not unrealistically end up with 6-7 wins. You fear that could be a 'we just started to figure things out' argument but it would be hollow to me.

I never want to see us tank, don't like watching us hoping we lose but I'd like to see the effort in the 2nd half for the rest of the season at least. Effort is one thing we can control.

It would be hollow to you, and us fans. But Shad? Idk. And that’s where the fear comes in.

That's the million dollar question I guess isn't it. Does Shad ignore the first 13 weeks of the season and act like the last 5 are a true reflection?  He's so desperate to find his GM and HC for the next 10 years and has tried again and again and it just doesn't work. I just can't see a way everyone stays. I fear he doesn't want to go HC hunting again so to quote Mike from Breaking Bad 'he took a half measure when he should have gone all the way'.

This is the time he should be working behind the scenes to see what's available and who's interested and have a plan ready to go from Black Monday.

I do get that. Us fans have all the answers and all the solutions. But we're not playing with the live ammo. NFL careers are short for players and coaches and one bad year can be enough. We all have GM's, HC's and players we like and want to bring in but there's no guarantee we're right. I know Shad has tried. You can't fault his effort but he's just not got the results, and in the odd times he has (2017, 2022) it has soured very quickly and it's back to the drawing board.
