There was a rumor to some media that the Browns owner, Haslem likes Vrabel who is working there as a consultant/advisor.

Haslem would be more open to moving on by trading Stefanski to make up for draft capital lost in the Watson trade, and so he wouldn't have to pay both head coaching contracts. Plus trading Stefanski would engender less ill will around the NFL than firing him.

Also Watson will be on the roster for 2 more years with an uncuttable dead cap hit, and Vrabel had a relationship with Watson in Houston.

I would argue all the openings likely to be available will have their own flaws. Supposedly Ben Johnson has thrown out feelers that he prefers the Bears job. Also it sounds like Detroit has been leaking a bunch of stuff about Johnson's personality and uncommon locker room/practice eccentrics that may rub some GM's and owners the wrong way?

Not sure how much of all this is smoke 'n mirrors.
