Let's Talk About- Political Edition

I know that this rant is not along the lines of what has been posted here but.... I need to point this out. Agree, or disagree with me, I really don't care..... just that I think this needs to be discussed...........
While sitting outside enjoying the weather this morning, just pondering the mysteries of life, this series of thought started percolating in my noggin. The main problem with government, and the liberals that run these useless and over-bloated bureaucracies is, they all take the one sizes fits all approach to every problem (that they most probably created) that comes down the pike. What may work in one area of the country, will not be feasible in another area of the country. Here's a prime example. All these EV mandates, well, EV's may work in an urban area where it's only a matter of a few miles to commute, or to go to the store to get what you need, however, in a rural setting..... Nope..... There may be miles between where you're at and the nearest store to get what you need to survive. And what about the farmers? Electric tractors would be useless if they need to stop and recharge them every few hours. They wouldn't get their fields plowed in time to plant the crops. They would really need to buy more equipment, and hire more people to get the same job done that they were able to do with only a few pieces of equipment and a few farmhands prior to these mandates. Not to mention that the infrastructure isn't in place to handle the increased needs. And with the way the government works, it would take 30 years of more to even begin to start building it when you consider the requirements they put in place. I'm taking things like environmental impact studies, then procuring the access to private land to run things like power lines through. Then taking into account the bidding process, material approvals, the permit process, among countless (and useless) other regulations, well..... the one size fits all theory goes out the window with all the red tape the government puts in place. To quote Burt Reynolds it the movie Smokey and The Bandit (And this is directed at those government bureaucrats) "When you tell somebody something, it all depends on which part of these United States that you're standing in, that's just how dumb you are" To sum it all up, it's the government that is impeding progress, not the other way around. ![]() |
