While a 39" vertical jump is a significant asset for a CB,  one thing that Jason Verrett has to overcome along with his height is he has short arms.  Joe Haden's arm length is at least 2 inches longer than Verrett's.  

 

One major concern I have regarding Verrett as a starting CB in a base Defense is combined with his size,  Verrett had a number of injuries on the College Level.   With Verrett's physical skill of play,   if he's often used in the base Defense instead of primarily as a nickel back,  there's a very realistic chance that he won't be able to stay relatively healthy often enough.
