Well, I agree with your premise, but disagree on the example chosen. For Daryl Smith I might....

 

But theres been examples of even better players than that with 2nd and 3rd rounders. Hell, Joe Montana was a 3rd rounder. Many top level WR have been got as late as the 3rd round. Tony Brackens was a 2nd rounder and IMO was a more impactful player than Daryl Smith but had his career cut short. MoJo himself was a 2nd rounder...No, I wouldn't be trading potential caliber picks like that away when you are in the Jaguars "building" situation.
