This is a ridiculous way of looking at it. Did he not have a say in what QB were brought in under his watch? Did ANY of them really get better under Gruden? I recall him having a revolving door of QB. 

 

 

Good coaching improves the players you have. Look at an example in Jerry Sullivan, here. He seems to make at least some positive difference in almost every receiver we bring in. No, he doesn't turn them all into studs, but at least they improve. I remember Gruden's handling of his QB in Tampa to be a train wreck.
