As Jedd Fisch pointed out today, the new date is bad for the teams because it's 2 fewer weeks where they know who is on their team, and it takes away 2 weeks of working with the rookies to get them up to speed.  That alone is a critical gaffe. 

 

If you like the date, you're in the minority based on the overall feedback I've seen and heard in the media.  The commissioner seems to think it needs to be revisited as well, so again, you're in the minority.
