The rookies who are missing out on 2 weeks are not professionals at this point.  They haven't been acclimated to the NFL or the routine of being professional athletes.  Two weeks is a huge gap for guys who are trying to get up to speed with the NFL game where things are far more complicated, and expectations are significantly higher.

 

You're entitled to dismiss it saying the rookies will be fine.  The offensive coordinator who has to coach them up made it pretty clear today that it puts them at a distinct disadvantage.
