Brewster: "I think a lot of people will be surprised when they get a chance to see me play full-time center.”

Quote:This certainly doesn't sound like urgency to fill C in the draft to me.

They took their shot at Mack, and now moving on down the line (no pun intended.)  It's still possible they could bring in a remaining vet after the draft, so I don't expect them to feel like they must find one in the draft.  I don't think they'll force a pick if it isn't there, or otherwise overdraft one because they think he'll be gone before their next pick.

<p style="margin-left:40px;">"I think that he’s in the mindset that he has the opportunity right in front of him and he’s really going to take advantage of this opportunity," Bradley said. "We’ll see. He looks the part, coming off of his injury very well, but it’s going to be competitive. We have confidence in him to play that position. We’ve talked in our offensive staff meetings and our overall staff meetings specifically about that one position, and his name keeps coming up."

One theme that seems to repeat itself in all the pressers with this regime, is that they always have a plan, and they seem pretty confident in it regardless of the variables in the equation.  You get the feeling (or, at least I do) that yes, they've thought this through and have explored all the alternatives.  They have a cool and comfort with the work they're putting in.

The center from USC has said he is attending the draft (he was one of the 30 players invited).   That tells me he thinks he will be drafted at least by the end of the second round.

A lot of people say you can get a good center in the 4th round, but if centers are going to start coming off the board at the end of the first round, how many will be drafted before our 4th round pick?   (That's a rhetorical question.)
