If he went to the Patriots? Even better, he'd be playing with Tom Brady throwing and not whatever random QB the Texans throw out there. Brady's able to work wonders with great receivers. Johnson/Gronk/Julian would be beyond nasty for any team. 

 

I see Johnson remaining one of the best in the NFL this season and maybe next depending on where he is. But who knows what'll happen? Age is a factor but it certainly doesn't seem to be holding him back at this point and time.

 

Money is a concern, but if I'm the Patriots, I'm definitely looking to make the most Brady's last few seasons. I'm sure they'd eat the salary for the potential of another SB run or two.

 

 

I think the odds are pretty good actually. I mean, the receivers I named played past 35 and Andre is only 32. He had 1,400 yards last season, and he doesn't seem to have any health concerns at this point in his career, besides that injury in '11 which he's clearly bounced back from.

 

Plus he's already #17 all time in receiving. All the receivers above him have a few more seasons on him. 

 

New England and Tom Brady have had an awful lot of success without a receiver like Johnson on the roster.  The case could be made that in the case of Brady, the QB makes the receiver.  I'd see them as one of the last teams to consider trading anything for that contract.

 

Nobody is arguing he's not one of the best in the league.  It's all about the money with him.  There aren't teams that will be happy to give up a high draft pick so they can eat that contract.
