for example if the pats wanted to trade for him. they reach out to the texans and let them know whats up. texans give the pats permission to talk to andre and negotiate a deal for a new contract. that way the texans get something and the pats get andre after knowing they wont be spending crazy money, and andre gets his shot at a superbowl. 

 

 

edit: if he says no, then he stays with the texans who will likely wind up trying to restructure his deal themselves after the season or he might wind up getting cut.
