I'm very certain that many are using. Being 6'4'' and 260 lbs with (probably) <5% body fat (Vernon Gholston) is almost impossible without aid. People can't maintain that much muscle mass with such a low quantity of fat without the stuff. That goes for most of the huge / low fat athletes. It isn't about the work. It's about the work and the perfect cycle. 

 

I don't disagree about the last part of your post. I'm just curious if he would draw a line in the sand since those two are directly related to performance.

I'm sure an argument, maybe not a great one, can be made that weed could be use to increase performance. Maybe a smaller OL is looking to gain weight and uses it to increase appetite? That argument can go for anyone, too. How many times do we hear how players put on some weight and expect better results in the upcoming season? I think the NFL's punishments should be less severe, but I understand their argument against it.
