Shorts was a project when he came in as a rookie.  He progressed his second year and got even better last year.  Concussion problems hindered him.  Now he's back to full go.  I'm saying that I don't think Caldwell would want to trade a known commodity, in the prime of their life, in peak health, when he's bringing around the new future at QB.  

 

I think Shorts gets extended to something around an $18 mil total contract.
