Last year we didn't have what we hope to be our franchise QB on the roster.  You want him to have enough weapons and protection to be able to perform.  Even if he sits the entire year, there's still next year.  I think the Monroe trade was just 'okay', and I think it wouldn't have been as good in as deep of a draft as this one was.  

 

You don't just trade players to get more picks for ammunition.  You do it with a plan.
