1. What was she doing looking at ducks so intently to notice they didn't have a mother... on an interstate like road?

 

2. There is compassion, and then there is stupidity. Stupidity is not an excuse for taking 2 lives.
 

 

Drinking to past the legal limit and getting behind the wheel is a knowingly selfish and illegal act. 

 

Trying to save baby ducks is an noble/ unselfish act. 

 

 

Both can and did/ do have disastrous consequences.
