We suck...we might as well let Bortles learn the game this year, and then hopefully be over the growing pains for next year- when we have magically acquired olinemen that can block and someone that can cover a TE.

Exactly. It'd be completely different if we had a Peyton Manning behind center who was up in age and we had a star backup waiting to take over. 

 

That is nowhere near the case. Plus if anything preseason could show us, it was Bortles will get out of more sacks than Henne can, so Washington might not have had a franchise record in sacks with Bortles behind center. He definitely looked like he got rid of the ball a lot faster than Henne in preseason, no matter what string it was against.
