So, while those guys were killing him on Sunday he could have at any point decided that he wanted to feign an arm or shoulder injury (God knows he has to be sore now) and then let the kid go out and take a couple lumps for the team.  Even if here were cut now Henne would still get this year's salary.  Henne is enough of a competitor that he chose to fight through it in a hopeless game.  Certainly the fact that if the kid went out there and looked better Henne would never start here again might be a factor.

 

My real problem with Henne Sunday was the fact that he simply could not read the defense.  He never seemed to adjust to what the defense was obviously about to do.  Personally I would have liked to see if Bortles could handle the blitzes last week better than Henne.  With that said, I do respect him because his salary this year is guaranteed and it still stood tall behind our garbage line and tried to make some plays.

 

How is it that Henne, a 7yr vet, can't read a defense?

 

How come he can't make changes at the LOS to combat what the opposing team is going to do?

 

If he sees a blitz coming, change the play to a quick slant or screen pass to combat that blitz.

 

The Redskins were a bad team which lost 9 games in a row, so don't give me any excuses that they were any great defense out there.

 

Why does Henne run so many plays that are destined to fail?

 

Do the rookie WRs not know the plays well enough for Henne to change them at the LOS?

 

How hard can it be to run a quick slant pass? I see other teams do it successfully all the time.

 

These are fair questions.
