They've opened Pandora's Box on this issue, that's for sure and the witch hunt is about to begin. All players with any sort of domestic violence history will be exposed and vilified and the NFL will move to an even more sanitized, choirboy league.

 

The NFL is caught in a quandary and Mr. Goodell has quite a tightrope to walk. The explosive growth of fantasy football in recent years has brought in millions of female fans who now understand and enjoy the game. They all buy NFL clothing for themselves and for others and have become a definite revenue stream. He can't offend that cohort.

 

He also needs to appease the sponsors as they are starting to stir around and the owners have taken notice. This group is obviously the straw that stirs the drink. If sponsors start to fall away, look out.

 

He did the right thing, IMO, in appointing those three women (I don't know anything about them, just sayin') but he has opened the door, they charged in and it will never be closed. This is only the tip of the iceberg.

 

Football is a violent sport played by violent men with, often, limited educations. Look at the "Arrest Meter" over on PFT- they probably started that as a joke but now it's a permanent joke and it's getting less funny. It currently stands at 5 (5 days since an NFL player was arrested) and I've never seen it over about 15.

 

OP HeadSlap is correct, the bad behavior ride is over. Now let the witch hunt begin.
