I understand some men are also of the opinion that violence towards women is wrong. Hell, there are some crazy people out there who think even violence against people who are neither women nor children is bad.

That said, I'm a bit concerned in some cases we're heading towards a policy of banning for bad behaviour rather than giving people a chance to put their house in order. AP in particular seems like a case where a lengthy ban shouldn't be called for if he can adjust his behaviour. It's madness to discipline someone harshly for something that they probably didn't even realise was wrong at any level.
