So after 3 games, how does our D-Line grade out with you?

Quote:We spent some money bringing in Clemons, Hood, and Bryant. I disagree with you completley, this is nothing like last years line. The play from Chris Clemons hasnt been as bad as many have indicated on this message board. After three weeks of the regular season with rotations being made, Chris has 1 sack, 1ff, 8 comb sacks (5 solo), 1 stuff. That's not horrible, i mean yes it could be better but he isnt in for every down like a lot of our teams RE. In regards to Andre Branch, he is tied with the league in 3rd place overall with 3 sacks (already half of what he had last season and isnt even in on every down), 2 FF, and 7 tackles. In regards to Big Red Bryant he hasnt been as impressive as I had hoped, but he has at times gotten pressure and taken on double coverage many times freeing up another DLineman to get pressure and his replacement Tyson Alualu has played poorly as well at LE and at DT because I guess they are trying to find a place where he will excel. He showed flashes during preseason but hasnt turned into anything during regular season, considering his hype when he was drafted and not being double covered he has been a big disappointment. In regards to the tackles led by 99 Sen'Derrick Marks his 2 sacks and 10 tackles doesnt do him justice compared to how great he's been playing on the field. He's getting pressure up the middle and performing way better than any other tackle on the team. I would even go as far as to say that Marks play so far would have him as one of the top 5 DTs in the league right now. Roy Miller on the other hand, has been another big disappointment, maybe ziggy hood would play better but hasnt really shown it when he comes in other than recovering one fumble. Arby Jones i dont think even played a down? not sure... To recap not the best DLine in Jacksonville's history but not the worst, they are probaby average in the league its the poor OLB & DBs that are the huge concern and problem of letting up 39 points per game in my opinion... |
