I'm sure there was no ill intent, but that doesn't change the fact that it was insensitive.  Simply because Ebola has not impacted your life doesn't make it meaningless to others.  I doubt the sign would be as well received in Northern Africa, for example.

 

Were it a joke about a problem more common here in the US, would it still be as funny?  What's next weeks theme?  Aids?  Breast cancer?  Racial jokes?  Gay jokes?  Drunk driver running over school kids jokes?
 

Do you agree, then, that no jokes should ever be told that contain any reference to water, fire, or diarrhea (among other things)?

 

Just about any subject will offend someone, so you must support the ending of all joke telling.
