Using the Patriots as an illustration again,  until the Robert Kraft era,  much of New England consisted of Giants fans.   This dates back to the pre-AFL days when Boston / New England didn't have a professional football team for decades.    The Giants were the closest team and had many great seasons.    While many of the older fans remained Giants fans,  the Patriots finally won over the new generations of fans when Bill Parcells turned the franchise around and especially in the Bill Belichick / Tom Brady era.  

 

While it will be difficult to convert older Dolphins and Bucs fans,  big time success by the Jaguars with Blake Bortles as the team's QB should win over a large part of the new generations in Central Florida and in other Secondary markets of the team.
