Golden Tate was drafted in 2010, two seasons before Wilson.

 

Russell Okung and James Carpenter were drafted in 2010-2011 respectively.

 

Red Bryant was lauded for his play and leadership with Seattle, but he was drafted in 2007, some 6 seasons before Wilson.

 

LBs Malcolm Smith and KJ Wright were drafted the year before Wilson, as was CB Richard Sherman.

 

Earl Thomas, Kam Chancellor and Walter Thurmond were all drafted in 2010-two years before Wilson.

 

Sometimes it takes guys a while to develop.

 

Sometimes it takes a while for the team to get it together.

 

It doesn't mean the draft wasn't important before Wilson, or that the team didn't benefit from those drafts until Wilson.
