I get the point here and agree in theory.  I'd even like to see it attempted and questioned it aloud during the game myself.  

As to why they don't try - I can only assume they lack faith in Bortles and the receivers to pull it off.  Which isn't a stretch considering how bad some of his passes were yesterday. 

 

At this point  --  they need a fresh round of smoke and mirrors. Anything to milk some production out of this offense. Your suggestion could be part of it.  But it is not exactly "attacking a weakness."
