And IMO I would take Manziel over Mariota. He has a higher YPA and much higher completion % than Mariota does.

 

If we fall to #2 pick its Clowney and Maziel for me, luckily though I don't have to make a call like that.....but I seriously don't see us taking a QB with #2 pick if Bridgewater is gone.

BTW I AM NOT SAYING MY OPTIONS FOR #2 PICK ARE CLOWNEY AND MANZIEL.....I am saying the only option for #2 pick is Clowney and then with our next pick I would take Manziel.

 

Manziel's YPA & Mariota's YPA are actually pretty much the same. 

 

Manziel's completion pct is higher this season, but both had similar completion pct last year. It is a bit concerning that Mariota's comp pct regressed, however. You usually want to see a QB steadily progressing in that category every season (like Teddy) in college, not bouncing around each year. 

 

It concerns me equally that both Manziel and Mariota are both soph's. 

 

Teddy is so far ahead of both of them as a prospect, its ridiculous. 

 

If I had to choose from Manziel or Mariota, I think I'd take Mariota though. All things being pretty much equal, you take the bigger QB. Plus Manziel's reckless style is less prone to work in the NFL than Mariota's unpolished game, thus Mariota is the lesser of 2 evils. 

 

But you don't take either Mariota or Manziel at 2 overall. Not even close to worth it. 

 

You take Clowney at 2 or trade down.
