Pete Prisco convinced Jags are super bowl contenders in a couple of years

Quote:Do you believe that a different coach would have gotten more out of this team as they stand right now? Do you think another coach would have significantly more wins that we have right now? Serious question.

I ask because with what they have starting on offense and even defensively in the secondary, the fact that we are not THE worst team in the league and that we are competitive on a lot of Sunday's is pretty impressive.

Significantly more wins?  Maybe not but ~6 with some tough losses should have been realistic.

I believe perception is once again skewed by a recent win here (against the worst team in the NFL no less).  When you look at the entire season, most games were over early.  Teams put up a small lead and rode it to victory most games.  I think this offense would have struggled some this season under any coach but there were too many coaching errors this season.

The D has played OK lately but what about the last season and a half.  Bradley was supposed to put his stamp on this defense but they struggled the 1st half of this season.  My problem isn't with a lack of talent or talent that needs to develop but poor scheming, game planning, lack of in-game adjustments, players on D constantly missing assignments early in the season, etc..  That is all coaching.

On offense, Fisch struggles stringing together plays that complement each other and lead to good drives.  The players are responsible for not executing but Fisch has had way too many poor game plans.  There were nearly never any in-game adjustments on offense.  Fisch definitely has a few creative plays.  However, those single plays do not make up for his overall poor performance as OC and his stuborn run on first down, WR screen on 2nd and get BB sacked on 3rd down approach.

I know others have their own opinions and want to talk about this coaching staff learning and will get better in the future.  I'm not buying that.  These coaches have long histories in college and the NFL and were hired (and payed very well) to do their job well.  To come into season 2 as they did and have so much that points to bad coaching is an overall big time fail on the coaching staff.
