All we traded was the tail end of his last season. If we had wanted to re-sign him, we could have signed him whether we traded him or not, because he became a free agent at the end of that season. We could have traded him for those two draft picks and still re-signed him at the end of the year. So what we really gave up in that trade was the tail end of his last season on his contract. So we definitely got the better end of that trade. |
