If you watched the Caldwell and Bradley press conferences, I don't remember which one, but one of them blamed themself for the special teams problems.   They said the special teams problems were due to some personnel decisions they made or had to make.   The cited core special teams players that were either cut or had to move to starting jobs due to injuries, and that resulted in some poor special teams plays. 

 

Fans look at results and say, fire this guy, while the head coach and GM see the day to day coaching the guy is doing and are much better able to evaluate whether the guy can coach or not.
