Since Trestman was approached several days ago and has apparently not interviewed yet, he probably has preferences for a different job(s).

 

Gus has picked several RB position coaches to interview.  From that I reason that he is looking for an OC who can improve the running game and the blocking of the OL for the running game.  That may lead to the new OC picking a RB to draft this spring and probably having input into which OL the Jaguars acquire in the offseason.  Bortles would then become the primary responsibility of the QB coach.

 

The running game may naturally improve as Joeckel, Bowanko, and Linder gain more strength during the offseason and have an offseason to build a cooperative effort.  Gus' philosophy is that the offense is 50% run and 50% pass.  So it makes since that he would bring in an OC who can improve the Jaguars' running game.
