Head coaches who lead 1, much less 2 different teams to the Super Bowl, don't stay unemployed long if they don't want to.

 

There just aren't many of them out there.

 

I mean, I still hear people/posters wanting ex-head coaches like Dungy, Gruden and Cower to come back and coach their teams and they haven't coached in years.

 

Plus, he must be a great interview.

 

 

 I believe I saw an article yesterday that mentioned that John Fox is only 1 of 6 coaches that led 2 different teams to at least one Super Bowl.  I'm wondering if John Fox is this generation's version of Dan Reeves.   A good to very good HC that can't get his teams over the hump.

 

 This evening,  I saw another article that mentioned that both the Panthers and Broncos were near the bottom of the NFL in Total Defense the season before he became HC.   In Fox's first season as HC,  he turned those Defenses into top 2 or 3 units,  in terms of least amount of yards.   Of course it helps when you have the 2nd pick of the Draft and select Julius Peppers and Von Miller.    One thing I'm certain about though.   The Bears need MANY personnel upgrades on the Defensive side of the ball to even be close to a top 5 unit.
