Obviously he will have to check out medically, but re-watching his highlights reminds me so much of fred taylor. I think many people tend to undervalue the position these days- but one only has to look at the Seahawks. No drafted receivers, but a hell of a running game. We had one of the worst 3rd down conversion percentages, particularly 3rd and short- and getting Gurley would go a long way to fixing that. 

 

Medically, if he checks out, it would be a steal of a pick.

 

Marshawn Lynch is more important to the Seahawks than Denard Robinson is to us. We have two second round picks catching passes from a top five pick. A veteran wide receiver may be targeted in free agency. It is obvious we are becoming less dependent on running backs as our 2013 and 2014 draft picks develop together, hopefully with better coaches.

 

That said, if someone who plays a more important position we actually need to upgrade drops to the championship teams range (29-32) and we think the Titans, Buccaneers, or Raiders want the same guy I would not be opposed to trading up into the first round. But I would not consider 24-28. That is too big a jump from 36.
