If Todd Gurley is sitting on the board at pick 24-32...
|
Would you trade up to go get him?
Obviously he will have to check out medically, but re-watching his highlights reminds me so much of fred taylor. I think many people tend to undervalue the position these days- but one only has to look at the Seahawks. No drafted receivers, but a hell of a running game. We had one of the worst 3rd down conversion percentages, particularly 3rd and short- and getting Gurley would go a long way to fixing that. Medically, if he checks out, it would be a steal of a pick. No because he'll still be there in round 2, pick 3 and he'll still be there round 2, pick 4.

Trading up for an injured player, medically cleared or not, would not be smart.

Quote:Would you trade up to go get him? Marshawn Lynch is more important to the Seahawks than Denard Robinson is to us. We have two second round picks catching passes from a top five pick. A veteran wide receiver may be targeted in free agency. It is obvious we are becoming less dependent on running backs as our 2013 and 2014 draft picks develop together, hopefully with better coaches. That said, if someone who plays a more important position we actually need to upgrade drops to the championship teams range (29-32) and we think the Titans, Buccaneers, or Raiders want the same guy I would not be opposed to trading up into the first round. But I would not consider 24-28. That is too big a jump from 36.

No. This team has too many needs, more prioritized in my opinion, to give away multiple picks for Gurley. I am a Gurley-man...but not for multiple picks.
Quote:Shouldn't this topic be in the almighty official trade thread? Come on guys. After a bunch of other people ruined it, I have to start a new one without astericks. ![]()
Quote:But will he be there round 2, pick 5? We have the fourth pick in round 2. The first three picks are the Titans, Buccaneers, and Raiders in that order. None of them would spend their second round pick on a running back. Quote:We have the fourth pick in round 2. The first three picks are the Titans, Buccaneers, and Raiders in that order.
