No. The only way in which it would make sense to draft a QB at #3 is if we are receiving calls from multiple teams looking to move up to 3 to get a QB. That way we could force these teams into a bidding war where the highest bid wins. Of course, as others stated this is very risky. You have to almost know for about 100% sure that you are going to be able trade him.
I could in all reality see a situation in which we trade with someone in the 5-13 range and they select someone like Shane Ray or Dante Fowler and then trade that player and a couple of picks for the QB that we chose for them whether it was Winston or Mariota. |
