If you don't like what the University is doing, then exercise your freedom and go somewhere else.  Cornell is a private school, and they can set the price of admission however they want.   Granted, they should not have blindsided anyone with this fee, but if they just raise the cost of tuition by $350, then everyone pays and no one needs to argue about it, because it's just part of the price of admission. 

 

Cornell is a private school.   It's no more a part of the government than Wal-Mart or Exxon.   They have a perfect right to set their prices and policies however they want within the law.   Do you want to regulate free enterprise, or are you just opposed to people having health insurance?
