The one biggest advantage any struggling team has is being able to draft CHEAP young talent. Trading away early draft picks for a veteran robs the team of being able to take advantage of cheap rookie contracts. The fact you fail to see this tactic is kinda surprising to me. (Not to mention that trades like this NEVER happen kinda make the whole point moot don't it?)
A few points:


1) What does his injury have to do with anything? Did he miss significant time because of it?


2) So Rodgers isn't enough to win a SB but the 1st overall pick is?


3) Cheap goes out the window when it comes to franchise changing players. Rodgers is that.


4) It's hypothetical obviously.
