Would You Trade Pick 3 Straight Up for Robert Quinn - DE - Rams?

#1

OK, The Titans just selected Leonard Williams with Pick 2 and Marcus Mariota is available.

The Rams call the Jags while they are on the clock and offer Robert Quinn - DE in a straight up trade for Pick 3.

Jags get Robert Quinn for Pick 3, nothing else.

Do you make that trade?

(Totally hypothetical)

What if the 49ers called under the same situation and offered Aldon Smith in a straight up trade for Pick 3?

Would you make that trade?

(Again totally hypothetical)

Too bad it can't be: Would you trade the #3 pick to the Chiefs for Justin Houston?

Nope.

Isn't Justin Houston a pending free agent? If so, he can't be traded.

I wouldn't trade the third overall pick for any single player, period.

To answer the originasl question, NO WAY. We can trade with the Jets, who obviously are a candidate for Marcus Mariota, and pick Dante Fowler at #6. That is what I want if the Titans pick Leonard Williams.

I can't say I agree with that. There are some great young players that I'd be more than happy getting with that pick.

I agree with this. A known commodity, no matter how good, is not worth giving up a chance to draft a young transcendent player early in a draft.

Luck? Rodgers? Watt?

You're insane if you wouldn't trade #3 for Watt.

Like who?

I would only trade a top five pick for a Hall of Fame-level perennial Pro Bowler. If we were talking about a bottom five pick - 27-32 - I would be more willing to consider trading it for a player who is not the best at his position.

Aaron Rodgers and J.J. Watt fit my critera. Andrew Luck does not.

I think I would. Proven player. Proven stud. But it would never happen.

Watt is by far the best defensive player in the league and could be the best player period.

Trading our #3 pick (someone who you have no clue what type of player they will be) is a no brained.
