I never criticized Meester, personally. Even when he got old he was still a serviceable player and a great guy. Bowanko was better than what he replaced, but he's not starter material yet in my opinion. I like him a lot as a backup type player, but not as the guy to protect our QB for 16 games.


I find it very hard to believe that, one offseason after trying to sign the best center in the NFL to a lucrative contract, Caldwell assumes Luke Buwanko will develop enough and stay healthy enough to play a full season without AT LEAST a decent backup. I fully expect a guy we've heard of to get signed (or a rookie to get drafted) at center. We will see.


I agree with you about RT, but I'd be surprised to see Caldwell give up on Beadles at LG after one year. Beadles is Caldwell's highest priced free agent signing yet, and his play got better over the second half of 2014. Whether right or wrong, I doubt Caldwell admits he missed on Beadles after one season, and I would expect to see him starting week 1 in 2015. Don't get me wrong, I prefer Mike Iupati to Zane Beadles all day, but he doesn't fit our scheme and it just ain't gonna happen.
