Just as our impressive defensive sack number was mostly an illusion (as evidenced by us being dead last in pressures), a large amount of our offensive sacks were an illusion too. PFF graded us middle of the pack for pass blocking, for example. They of course just grade each lineman as a pass blocker individually, so that helps take out the part that wasn't their fault, such as when Blake runs into sacks, or holds the ball too long, or coverage sacks, or sacks where a TE or RB blow the assignment. Being unable to separate the reality from the raw number totals is a common flaw. 

 

Rookie C, rookie RG, 1st year FA LG, essentially rookie LT, turnstile RT, three rookie WRs, rookie QB, etc...see how simplistic using the raw sack total is when there are so many factors that contributed, but also have an excellent chance of improving alone internally?  

 

EDIT: and yes, I do think Dave will aggressively attack RT in RT or the draft...but the other 4 starting spots will be the same next year. That's not a bad thing.
