And last year the Saints were already OVER the cap and still managed to manipulate the cap to sign the most expensive FA in the entire class in Jairus Byrd. What you said above is logical in theory, but the cap gurus on these teams have proven time and again they will find a way to get the players they want at the expense of whatever if they think that one player will push them over the top...and you can bet teams like the Colts and Bears will think that with several of these players.
