Trust me, I understand and agree with the logic. However, we also see every year teams take that logic and throw it out the window (usually contenders such as the Saints, Patriots, and Broncos last year) to compete right now. The Saints and Broncos are going to pay for it this year by having to lose out on good players like Julius and Knighton (and Evans for the Saints), but there will always be another GM/coach who feels like their job is on the hot seat and will jump in with both feet to save it...future be damned.
