I don't know if I would go so far as to say that taking a running back prior to the 3rd round would be a bad thing, but I will say that I think it would be preferable not to just because we have more pressing needs elsewhere. I still think that so much of what happens (good or bad) depends on the performance of the o-line. An upgrade there tends to translate to seemingly improved offensive performance across the board. I think that a good line will make a mediocre quarterback, running back, and receivers all look much better than they individually really are. 

 

To bad we've not had much luck with ours in a long time. I hope this starts changing this season otherwise I just don't see us getting out of the cellar.
