I'm not writing him off, but I have been saying for a long time that he comes back to the Blackmon everyone knew and loved (who wasn't nearly as good as perceived even back then, to be fair) is slim to none.

You know, the oft stated research about players gone for 2 years...and the most successful comeback ever in that circumstance being Plaxico Burress as a strict red zone option. Even if Blackmon does surpass that and essentially become the greatest long term redemption story in WR history...there is a huge chasm between being that and becoming what he was, the gap is that big.

A mid level possession Z/slot receiver would be a great outcome for him honestly.
