I always look at Hall of Fame players now by saying would he be a hall of famer if he was a Jacksonville Jaguar?  If Polamalu was a Jaguar, I'm not so sure he would make it in this market.

 

 My take is if the Jaguars continued to perform on the level that they did in the 2007 season in which they beat the Steelers on the road twice,  including in a thrilling playoff win,  and gave the then unbeaten Patriots a heck of a battle in the 2nd round of the playoffs,   the Jaguars would have already been a much higher national profile team.  The 7 straight non winning seasons probably would have made extremely difficult for Troy Polamalu to get enough national recognition for his playmaking skills.   Granted,  with Polamalu,  the Jaguars probably would have won a handful of more games over the years.  But probably not enough to get the team enough national exposure to get Polamalu the type of recognition one usually needs to get into the HOF.
