Forget Adrian Peterson - Jags get RB Melvin Gordon Draft Scenario
|
Forget the Adrian Peterson trade scenario. What would you all think about this draft? Cleveland trades up to #2 with Tennesse to get Mariota. Then the Saints, who have done some wacky things this off season, come calling to trade up to #3. In this scenario, the vikings take Gurley at #11 (I think Adrian Peterson ends up in Dallas). Dave Caldwell decides not to wait on a RB and grabs Melvin Gordon, knowing that a very good LEO will still be there at the end of round 1. Then we get a starting FS in round 2, and dynamic slot WR in round 3 with Phillip Dorsett (not sure he lasts this long come draft time).
1. (13) RB Melvin Gordon - Wisonsin 1. (31) LEO Eli Harold - Virginia 2. (36) FS Eric Rowe - Utah 3. (67) WR Phillip Dorsett - Miami 3. (75) DE/DT Xavier Cooper - Washington State 4. (103) ILB Ramik Wilson - Georgia Not realistic? I think Gurley and Gordon are special, and all the RB's after them can be interchanged and are a toss up. I would prefer Gurley, but Gordon is healthy now and would give us some star power and be the scoring threat we need. Here's how it plays out:
