***The Official Schedule Release Thread***

Quote:Then you remember wrong. There were plenty of schedule talk even when we were good. Its the NFL. Everything gets talked about. Its a competitive league, and every advantage or disadvantage is talked about and complained about.

There were early complaints that we weren't getting enough early home games, when temperatures are at 90 degrees + humidity.

I remember complaints about 3 game road swings too.

Bad field turf?

Piping noise?

Ball deflated by a barely noticeable amount?

Texting during a game?

Its the NFL. Everyone wants every little ounce they can get to have a competitive advantage.

The schedule that the NFL gave the Jaguars is tough. There's no ands, ifs, or buts about it. Part of it is self-inflicted, given our London situation.

We have a 3 game road swing. Two if you count the London game as a travel game.

You know who doesn't have to travel 3 weeks in a row? New England. Not only do they not have a 3 game road swing, they have a 3 game home stand lol.

Seattle doesn't have a 3 game road swing either, and they too get a 3 game home stand.

Let's look at the opposite end of the spectrum. Tampa Bay has neither 3 game road swing or 3 game home stand. Their schedule is balanced. How about Tenn? No 3 game road swing...and *gasp*  a FOUR game home stand (with bye in the middle). Oakland? Balanced schedule.

Atlanta has a 3 game road swing. So does Buffalo.

Baltimore has TWO 3-game home stand with no 3-game road swing. So does Detroit.

Sure, we can get as good as we possibly can and not care. But the schedule is supposed to "easier" for the weaker teams to promote parity. And I sure would love some of these other schedules.

and I think we need to just shut up about it and win.

Gus Bradley and co. aren't getting the slightest benefit of the doubt because the schedule is tough.  It's tough, but so is every schedule.  I'm sure if you actually looked at it, we probably have one of the easiest schedules in the league (however they calculate that).

apparently we have the 25th toughest schedule in the league.

like you said, some of it is self inflicted.  If our owner doesn't care about the schedule and uses a home game to play in Europe, then we have no right to complain about the schedule.

The NFL is giving us an opportunity to start at home and pick up some wins.  If we can't beat the Panthers and the Dolphins at home, then what's the point of complaining about the schedule?  We suck.  ANY schedule would be too hard for us.

We can't play the titans and texans every single week.
