The interesting thing is that liberals constantly fixate on the social issues and act like it's the republicans doing so. Social issues are very important to the progressive mindset. True conservatives are less concerned about gay relationships than they are about how we're going to fund Medicare for the next decade, or deal with our enemies abroad. That's not going to excite any progressive until such time as their benefits are cut off, or the terrorists are blowing up bombs in their neighborhoods.

Of course it is important to republicans. They are on the other side fighting to keep same sex marriage illegal. How do you think we got to this point where being gay has become acceptable? By not caring. Social issues are impoetant. If they weren't there would be a huge fight for them. This post is ridiculous.


And there are other social issues, just used that as an example since so much progress has been made.
