Quote:May I ask why? For one, at the time that it was a Navy Base it was a fairly "remote" area. This makes it ideal as far as noise, etc. Also, it has 4 runways with one of them being one of the longest in the country (it was also a backup runway for the space shuttle). It has far more ramp and hanger space than NAS Jax, and there was plenty of room for expansion should it be necessary. There are 10 kinds of people in this world.
